Homeschool Science Lab Day

A full morning of museum labs built for homeschool families, from microscopes to fossil collections.

About this event

The museum's education team runs a dedicated school-day program for homeschool families once a month. Small groups rotate through three lab stations with real specimens, then head into the open collections lab to talk with the people who care for them. Curriculum connection handouts for elementary through middle school are included with every ticket.

What you'll do

  • Rotate through microscope stations with real specimens
  • Sort fossil casts and learn how Florida formed
  • Meet a collections manager in the open lab
  • Log observations in a take-home field notebook
  • Pick up curriculum connection handouts by grade
