Little Learners STEM Storytime

A picture book, a craft and a hands-on science moment for ages 2–6, every second Saturday.

About this event

The children's room turns into a mini lab for an hour: a librarian reads a science picture book, then families move to the craft tables for a hands-on activity kids can take home. Designed for ages 2 to 6 with a grown-up, and gentle enough for first-time storytime visitors. Free, no registration needed, and strollers are welcome.

What you'll do

  • Settle in for a picture-book read-aloud about rockets
  • Build and launch a straw rocket at the craft table
  • Sort moon rocks and shells at the touch table
  • Sing the planet song with shakers and scarves
  • Take home a storytime activity sheet
