Native Plants & Pollinator Gardens

Which native plants feed Florida pollinators, and how to lay them out for blooms all year.

About this event

Leon County extension horticulturists walk through which native plants actually perform in Panhandle heat, and how to arrange them so pollinators have food from spring through fall. The evening finishes in the demonstration garden, where you can see the plants at mature size and ask about turf-replacement rebates.

What you'll do

  • Identify North Florida natives that feed pollinators
  • Match the right plant to your sun and soil
  • Plan a bloom calendar so something is always flowering
  • Walk the demonstration beds with an extension agent
  • Ask about county rebates for replacing turf
